Otto R Beilke, 11325 N 60th Ave., Merrill, died Wednesday, Sept. 2, 1992, at St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield.
He was born Nov 18, 1922, in the town of Maine, to the late Leo and Johanna (Micheel) Beilke. He married Evelyn Faber, Aug. 3, 1951, in Galena, Ill. She survives.
He was an assessor for the town of Maine. He was a member and treasurer of the Maine Lion's Club, treasurer of District 08 Alcoholics Anonymous, he counseled inmates in the Marathon County Jail, and was an active worker in his church. He was also an avid sportsperson, and enjoyed reading and making maple syrup.
Survivors besides his wife, Evelyn, include a son, Robert Beilke, Auburn, Neb.; one daughter, Christine Beilke, Madison; two sisters, Nathalie (Richard) Andrus, Wausau, and Elaine (John) Moss, Kings Mountain, NC; a brother, Reuben (Pat) Beilke, Mount Prospect, Ill.
Services will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, Sept. 5, 1992, at St. John Lutheran Church, town of Maine. The Rev Paul Oammelin will officiate. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, town of Maine. Friends may call from 4 pm to 8 pm. Friday at the Helke Funeral Home, Wausau, and after noon Saturday at the church. There will be a scripture service at 7 pm Friday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be given to Maine Lions Club, Alcoholics Anonymous, or St. John Lutheran Church, town of Maine.
