William Claude Thompson was known as W. C. or Bud. He married Rebecca Ann Elizabeth Jordan on January 4, 1872 in Benton Co., Tennessee.

By 1880, they had moved to Pike Co., Arkansas and lived there until 1910. They moved to Paris, Lamar Co., Texas in late 1910 when their son John Daniel Thompson died that year. Bud was the informant on his death certificate and listed his address as Reno, Texas (Lamar Co.). Rebecca died in Paris on April 8, 1915 and was buried there.

Bud then moved back to Arkansas and lived with his son Allie Right Thompson until Bud's death on January 28, 1934.
