J. Henry Rutten Jr., 80, Crary, died Friday, Dec. 27, 2002, in his home.
Mr. Rutten, known as Hank, was born Dec. 31, 1921, in Devils Lake, N.D. He grew up and attended school in the Crary area and graduated from Devils Lake High School. On June 7, 1944, he married Dorothy Garske near Crary. They farmed near Crary. She died in 1989. He also operated a heating and air conditioning business for several years and was a member of the Crary School Board and Ramsey County Township Board.
He is survived by two son, Leo (Ruth), Harvey, N.D., Dan (Mary), Moorhead; a daughter, Edith (Juergen) Lueke, Rochester, Minn.; a brother, Gerald, Yucaipa, Calif.; three sisters, Alice Wickum, Yuba City, Calif., Bernadine Pentz, Olympia, Wash., Germaine Erskine, Los Alamitos, Calif.; 10 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and two stepgreat-grandchildren.
Visitation: Wednesday from 1-5 in Gilbertson Funeral Home, Devils Lake, with a rosary at 7 in St. Benedict's Catholic Church near Crary, and one hour before the funeral in the church.
Funeral: Thursday at 10 in St. Benedict's Catholic Church near Crary.
Burial: St. Benedict's Catholic Cemetery near Crary.
