She was born on June 23, 1924 in Stockbridge daughter of the late Robert and Martha (Tyson) Mortell. She married Clem Halbach on June 29, 1944 in Stockbridge He preceded her in death on November 16, 2000. She and Clem worked on the family farm and Kitty also worked at the Chilton Products for over 20 years. She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Jericho, the Chilton Eagles Post #1288, she played the roll of Kitty the Clown as a member of the ""Diner Clowns"", she loved gardening, playing sheepshead & baseball, listening to music, trips to the casino, her cats, sturgeon fishing, the Green Bay Packers, and playing with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.. She also was proud of her strong Irish heritage, especially St. Patrick's Day.
She is survived by 7 children; Carol (Alvin) Sabel of Fond du Lac, James ""Pete"" Halbach and fianc? Patti Jo Lisowe of Brothertown, Dennis (Mary) Halbach of Rural Chilton, Ronald Halbach of Acworth GA, David Halbach of Malone, Jerry Halbach of Brothertown, Bob (Mary) Halbach of Jericho, 16 grandchildren; Gary (Sharon) Sabel, Sharon (Don) Wilson, Glenn (Heather) Sabel, Donna Sabel, Greg (Jessica) Sabel, Pamela (Brad) Hagens, Christina (Neal) Moegenburg, Russell (Kelly) Halbach, Julie (Shane) Warner, Laura (Brian) Schussman, Rachel Halbach, Marie Halbach, Tanya Halbach, Tracy Halbach, Justin Halbach, Dana Halbach, and Denise Halbach, 19 great grandchildren; and one brother; Robert (Martha) Mortell of Appleton. She was preceded in death by a daughter; Judy Ellen Halbach, two sisters; Irene Lisowe, and Minnie Mieke, and two brothers; Eugene and Edward Mortell.
Funeral Services will be at 10:30 AM on Wednesday July 13, 2005 at Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Jericho with the Rev. Gregory Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. Friends may call at Wieting Family Funeral Home, 411 W. Main St. Chilton, from 4 to 8 PM on Tuesday and again on Wednesday at the church from 9:30 AM until the time of service. A prayer vigil will be held on Tuesday evening at the funeral home in Chilton at 7:30 PM.
