Raymond E. Holt, 79, of Edna, died Thursday, (Oct. 5, 2000) at his home.
Mr. Holt was born Feb. 25, 1921, at Vanzant, Mo. to Trella and Fern (Mulkins) Holt. He graduated from Field Kindley High School, Coffeyville. Following his education, he moved to California, where he for worked Consolidated Aircraft, a company where planes were brought and returned to a state of readiness. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. In the late 40's he returned to Coffeyville, working at Olin Dixon and Continental Can Companies.
He married Wilma Imel Crane on July 1, 1954. She died in 1970.
He married Dorothy Louise Moore on Nov. 10, 1972, at Edna. The couple purchased a farm east of Coffeyville, where Mr. Holt raised livestock. He also established a fruit orchid, and with his wife, they worked with ceramics. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Edna and Masonic Lodge.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Moore of Edna; one daughter, Cheryl Wells of The Woodlands, Texas; one brother, Maynard of Seatle; one sister, Hazel Clark of Vanzant, Mo.
He is preceded in death by one sister; one grandchild. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday at the First Baptist Church with burial in the North Edna Cemetery. Friends may call from noon until 9 p.m. at the Ford-Wulf-Bruns Edgewood Chapel and after 9 a.m. until service time Monday at the Church. The family would welcome memorials to the First Baptist Church, Edna Library or Hospice.
