Martha E. Colburn, the daughter of Ole and Minnie (Erickson) Aune was born September 11, 1911, in Washburn, Wisconsin and departed this life on Saturday, February 19, 2000, at Marshailtown, Iowa. She was 88.
Casketbearers were Martha's grandsons: Stephen Colburn, Craig Colburn, Keith Colburn, Brian Colburn, Troy Gardener and T. H. Cook.
She received her education in Duluth, Minnesota and received her teaching degree from the University of Minnesota in Duluth.
On June 13, 1937 she was united in marriage to Rollin E. Colburn in Duluth, MN. Martha enjoyed many years teaching at the Palo Alto Rainbow School. Following retirement in 1974, she did volunteer work at area nursing homes.
Mrs. Colburn was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Ruthven.
Surviving Martha are four children, Geraldine Walker of Albion, Iowa, Richard Colburn of Dayton, Minnesota, Allen Colburn of New Windsor, Maryland and Bruce Colburn of Muscatine, Iowa; 14 grandchildren; 4 great-granddaughters and one brother, Edward Aune of St. Paul, Minnesota.
Martha has been preceded in death by her parents; husband, Rollin; three sisters, Camille Lutzka, Anne Schiesser and Eleanore Wollerman Wehler; two brothers, Einer Aune and William Aune.
