Sam Annie Sr.
Sam Annie Sr., 89, of Box 38, Reynoldsville, died Sunday, Nov. 8, 1998, in Clarksburg Continuous Care Center following an extended illness.
He was born May 29, 1909 in Enterprise, a son of the late Frenchesco Annie and Rosa Vecchio Annie.
His wife, Josephine Gallo Annie, whom he married Jan. 28, 1938, survives.
Also surviving are one daughter and son-in-law, Constance M. and Orlan Clevenger, Somerset, PA; one son and daughter-in-law, Sam and Cathy Annie Jr., Clarksburg; three grandchildren, Mrs. Herb (Carla Jo) Clevenger Enos, Christin Annie and Julie Annie; and one great-granddaughter, Abigayle Enos.
He was also preceded in death by four brothers, Domineck, Jim, Frank and Tony Annie.
Mr. Annie was a member of St. James Catholic Church, North View, Clarksburg. A glazer tender, he had over 40 years of service with hazel Atlas Glass and retired in January 1972 from Continental Can Corporation.
Friends will be received from 12:30 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Davis-Weaver Funeral Home, 329 E. Main St., Clarksburg. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. James Catholic Church with Rev. Father Fred Annie and the Rev. Father Robert A. Perellio as celebrants. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Masonic Cemetery. A scripy ural prayer service will be held at 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
