Bruce W. Keller, 85, of Redfield, SD died Monday, January 10, 2011 at Community Memorial Hospital in Redfield.

His funeral will be Saturday, January 15, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Bernard's Catholic Church in Redfield. Father William Osborn will officiate. Burial will be in St. Bernard's Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 2-8:00 p.m. with the family present from 5-7:00 p.m. and a prayer service at 7:00p.m. at Thelen Funeral Home in Redfield. www.thelenfuneralhome.com

Bruce W. Keller, 85, of Ashton, SD, died Monday, January 10, 2011 at Redfield Community Memorial Hospital. He was born May 26, 1925 near Ashton to James and Anna (Larsen) Keller. He grew up on the family farm, attended grade school at the Keller country school and graduated from Ashton High School in 1943. He married Marcella (Sally) Heim on June 2, 1948 in Mellette. Bruce ran the family farm and operated a tractor salvage business near Ashton. He was a substitute mail carrier from 1969 through 1986 in Ashton. He then relocated to Iroquois, SD, where he was a mail carrier until his retirement in 1990. He returned to the farm where he lived until October 2007 when he moved to Lakeside Assisted Living in Redfield.

Bruce enjoyed talking about old tractors and in his travels always found someone, he knew, to visit with. He also enjoyed dancing. He had a way of charming babies and small children.

He is survived by his children: Joe (Linda) Keller of Redfield, Jim (Cora) Keller of Ashton, Ann (Mike) Carroll of DeSmet, Eileen (Darcy) Englund of Rosholt, Bill (Pam) Keller of Sioux Falls, and Karen (Tom) Sholes of St. Elizabeth, MO. He is also survived by 26 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren as well as his special friend Betty "Donna" Hartzell of Huron.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Sally in 1998, one brother, David, and two sisters, Edna Nerger and Doris Hamre.
