Larry E. Dromgold, 79, of Camp Hill, passed away on Thursday September 29, 2011 at the Harrisburg Hospital.
Born on January 24, 1932 in Blain, PA, he was the son of the late David C. and Margaret J. (Gutshall) Dromgold.
He was a graduate of Elizabethtown College and Blain Union High School. He was a Veteran of the US Army serving in Alaska. He was retired from Highmark with 28 years of service. Immediately after college he was with CCNB (PNC) and was manager and asst cashier of the East Pennsboro office. He was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Camp Hill, where he was a church usher, Sunday School Teacher, member of the Bible Study, a Koinonia Group, as well as the Men of Trinity. He was a Past President of the West Shore Lions Club, a member of the Camp Hill American Legion, New Cumberland VFW # 7415, a mason with Robert Burns Lodge # 464, member of the Scottish Rite, Zembo Shrine, Legion of Honor, and a member of the Officers Club of the Navy Depot., and an Assistant Scout Master.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Joyce (Shenk) Dromgold, of Camp Hill and a son, David Clark Dromgold, of Camp Hill. He was a loving and devoted Husband and Father. He was known for his love of people and the Pittsburgh Pirates.Three nieces, five nephews, one sister in-law and one brother in-law also survive.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three sisters, Helen D. Smith; Isabel D. Ogden; Roxie D. Morrow; and a Brother, C. Richard Dromgold.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m., on Wednesday, October 5, 2011 in the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 2000 Chestnut St., Camp Hill, with Pastors Glenn Ludwig and Nancy Easton, officiating. A viewing will be held in the church on Wednesday, from 10:00 a.m., until the time of the service. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family in the Blain Cemetery, Blain, PA.
