MARIE ELIZABETH RUARK
May 2, 1911 ~ September 26, 2011

Marie Elizabeth Ruark passed away Monday, September 26, 2011 at the Hampton Care Facility in Vancouver, Washington, at the age of 100. She was born on May 2, 1911 in Pomeroy, Washington to Christian and Dora Obenland. She grew up in Pomeroy graduating from Pomeroy High School, later attending Business School in Seattle, Washington.

On July 31, 1932 she married Dale Andrew Ruark. They lived for awhile in Pomeroy, Washington, Lewiston, Idaho, then moved to Pullman, Washington in the mid 1930's when Dale became Advertising Manager of the Pullman Herald.

A daughter, Kay, was born in 1938 and a daughter, Dixie, in 1941.

Marie had many interests including ballroom dancing, sewing, bridge clubs, crossword puzzles, working as a volunteer at the local hospital and socializing with her many friends.

She moved to Vancouver several years after Dale's death in 1993 to be near her daughter Kay and family.

Marie is survived by her daughter, Kay (Jack) Grover; daughter, Dixie (Bart) Braden; granddaughters, Heather (Don) Bryan, Kristin (Brian) Shelton, Laura (Mark) Lindenschmidt; and grandsons, Dale (Sandy) Braden, Mike (Roxanna Trimble) Braden, and Terry (Debbie) Grover; and her great-grandchildren, Ryan and Landon Grover, Kayla and Cory Bryan, Steven Braden and Beth and Julia Lindenschmidt.

A private family memorial service was held at Vancouver Funeral Chapel.
