From FAG member C Branscome, 47332287;

There's contradictory information on where John was born. According to "Hale, House and Related Families" by D. Jacobus, John was the son of Charles and Prudence (Francis) Hollister of Glastonbury, CT and born in Glastonbury. The footnote mentions that John's family was not mentioned in Case's "Hollister Genealogy" but is based upon a family Bible record provided by A. L. Maltbie of Dishman, Wash. and refers to "The American Genealogist", 10:224.
