MOCKSVILLE - Mr. Lester Long Eaton, 88, of Eatons Church Road died Monday, Dec. 13, 2004, at Davie County Hospital. He was born in Davie County on Sept. 22, 1916, to the late James Monroe and Luna Haneline Eaton. Mr. Eaton had been a dairy and poultry farmer all his life. Mr. Eaton was a lifelong member of Eatons Baptist Church, where he had been a trustee and a member of the men's Sunday school class. He was a graduate of Mocksville High School. He was preceded in death by a brother, Paul Eaton, in 1996. Survivors include his wife of 31 years, Virginia Angell Eaton, of the home; two nephews, Jim (Brenda) Eaton and Charles (Eleanor) Eaton, all of Mocksville; a niece, Elizabeth (Bob) Atterberry of Belmont; four loving great-nieces; a great-nephew; a sister-in-law, Mrs. Helen Eaton of Mocksville; three stepdaughters, Hazel C. (James Caroll) Pendry of Booneville, Christine (Jerry) Rivers of Mocksville and Jennie (Gabe) Aguallo of Clemmons; two stepsons, John Clement and Butch Clement, both of Mocksville; 10 stepgrandchildren; and 10 stepgreat-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. today, Dec. 15, at Eatons Baptist Church. A funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. today, Dec. 15, at Eatons Baptist Church with the Dr. David Gilbreath officiating. Interment will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 16, in Eatons Baptist Church Cemetery. The family requests that memorials be considered for Eatons Baptist Church, c/o Brenda Hunter, 188 Pudding Ridge Road, Mocksville, NC, 27028. Eaton Funeral Service is serving the family of Mr. Eaton.
