State Congressman. He served two terms in the senate and four terms in the house of representatives of the Tennessee state legislature. Father of Tennessee Congressman James Daniel Richardson. A prominent doctor in Rutherford County, he received his medical degree from Transylvania University in Kentucky in 1833.
