Knoxville Mayor. Served in the Confederate Army during the Civil War. He was the Mayor of Knoxville, Tennessee, from 1855 to 1856. Also served as the Tennessee State Attorney General in 1851, and as a Representative from Tennessee in the Confederate Congress from 1862 to 1865.
