Born March 27, 1918 in Fountain Green, Utah. His parents were Harrison and Eva Bowers. Married Flossee Coon, January 23, 1946, in Salt Lake City, Utah. After he graduated from Moroni High. He served 21 months in the Civil Conservation Corp. Vao worked at Kennecott Copper Company, then served 4 ½ years in the Navy Air Force. He also worked as a realtor at Midwest Realty and later as a broker for several firms. He retired from Tooele Army Depot after 20 years as a housing officer.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years; two children Joan (Lynn)Anderson of Ferron, Utah and Scott (Lauri) Bowers of Tooele, Utah; grandchildren, Troy Anderson, Ferron, Utah, NaCole Dastrup, Richfield, Utah; Les, Julie, Chad, and Wyatt Anderson, of Ferron, Utah; Elisha, Andrew, Kelsey, and Dallin Bowers of Tooele; five great-grandchildren; Also survived by brother Jack (Barbara) Bowers of Kearns; Jay (Yvonne) Bowers of Hunter; two very special aunts, Katie Cahoon and Bessie Rasmussen. Preceded in death by his parents; sister, LaUna Cavanee Clifton; brother, Robert Bowers; LaRue (Leon) Holman and Wallace Nunley.
Funeral services will be held Thursday July 25, 2002 at the Taylorsville 25th LDS Ward Chapel at 4505 South 3420 West (Kathy Avenue), West Valley, Utah at 12:00 p.m. where friends may call Wednesday July 24, 2002 from 6-9 p.m. and from 10:30 to 11:45 on the day of the service. Interment at Valley View Memorial Park. Under the direction of Larkin Mortuary.
