George Thomas Baines, 79, Nampa, died Sunday, April 24, at his home of natural causes. He was born Aug. 14, 1903, at Harrison, Ark., to Faust and Fannie Baines. He was reared and educated in Harrison. He married Viola Gann Dec. 24, 1928, in Harrison. They farmed near Harrison until 1937 when they moved to Fruitland, Idaho, where they continued farming. In 1952 they came to Nampa. He went to work for the Idaho State School and Hospital in Nampa in 1959 as a ward attendant. He retired in 1967 and they had resided in Nampa since. He was a member of the Caldwell Church of Christ.
He is survived by his wife of Nampa; three daughters, Mrs. Terry (Lena) Roberts, Boise, Mrs. Erma Owczarcak, Twin Falls, Mrs. John (Rena) Perfect, Coeur d'Alene; one son, Tom, Garnerville, Nev.; two brothers, John Baines and Jim Baines, both of Fruitland; nine grandchildren , seven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Joe, and one son, George D. Baines.
