MARY CHRISTINA (KILROY) McCORMICK - Funeral services will be held Thursday for Mrs. Mary Christina McCormick, 61, a lifelong Tampico resident, who passed away Monday evening at Community General Hospital following a long illness. She was born in Tampico, Aug. 31, 1903, the daughter of William and Ida Mae Kilroy. She was married to William Francis McCormick Feb. 16, 1920. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, the Altar and Rosary Society of St. Mary's and the Tamkpico American Legion Auxiliary. Survivors include five sons, Francis, Tampico; Joseph, Westchester; Robert, Sterling; Lawrence, Phoenix, Ariz.; and Ronald, Carswell AFB, Ft. Worth, Tex.; a foster son, James, at home; two daughters, Mrs. Anthony (Helen) Vitacco, Lombard and Mrs. Dean (Kathryn) Winchell, Sterlin; one sister, Mrs. Minnie Bell Abel, Davenport, Ia.; four brothers, Joh, California; Charles, Fox River Grove; Lean and Robert, Chicago; three sisters-in-law, Mrs. Helen McCormick Carlson, Tampico; Mrs. Minnie Kilroy, Morrison, and Mrs. Ina Kilroy; several nieces and nephews, and 13 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1936, three brothers, Fred, Earl and Harry, and one sister, Maude. A funeral mass will be said at 9:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary's Church in Tampico by the Rt. Rev. Msgr. Thomas Green of Sterling, and Rev. A. M. Weitekamp of Tampico. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Tampico. A rosary was said at 3 p.m. today. Friends may call at the Schmitt Funeral Chapel any time. A memorial has been established to the American Cancer Society.
