Born about 1810, Joshua Drake was one of the younger children of Joshua Drake and Ann (Nelson) Drake. According to The Journal of the Reverend Silas Constant: Pastor of the Presbyterian Church at Yorktown, New York, Joshua Drake, Sr. was born 14 Oct 1759 and died 20 Feb 1818. His wife Ann was born 3 Dec 1768 and died Mar 1822. Both are buried in Saint Peters Cemetery in Westchester County, New York (now known as Old Van Cortlandtville Cemetery). Their large family had children Phebe (Drake) Crumbie, Sarah (Drake) Beaumont, Tamer (Drake) Beecher, Ruth, Cornelius, William, Ann, Joshua, and Nelson. Some of these children's names appear on the same Drake monument where Joshua's inscription appears, which indicates that they were his siblings.
