Mr. Ezell was a lifelong resident of the Chesnee area and a son of the Rev. W.G.P. Ezell and Mrs. Eliza Wall Ezell. He was a retired farmer and a member of Arrowwood Baptist Church.
His first wife Mrs. Edna Wood Ezell died in 1946. Children serviving from this marriage are: three daughters, Mrs. Jessie Lamb of Chesnee Route 3, Mrs. Helen Lewis of Chesnee Route 1 and Mrs. Katheryn Clark of Spartanburg; one son, Walter Leon Ezell of Santa Ana, CA; also surviving; are his wife, Mrs. Monnie Hudgins Ezell; one sister, Mrs. A.J. Foster of Gaffney; three brothers, W.W. and J. Furman Ezell, both of Chesnee and Rev. Sam J. Ezell of Birmingham, Al; 18 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
