Carroll E. Amick, 77, husband of Margaret Griffin Amick for 50 years, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 4, 2011.

Mr. Amick was born January 30, 1934 in Prosperity, to the late Mayben E. Amick and Rosabel Shealy Amick. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service, and also worked for Daniel Construction and Union Carbide. He was the owner and operator of Amick's Plumbing, and enjoyed farming and gardening. Carroll was a man who loved a good cigar, a funny joke, and a good story.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are three sons, Rodney Amick, Randall Amick and wife Cathie, and Shane Amick; three brothers, Larry Amick and wife Faye, Bruce Amick and wife Barbara, and Don Amick; three sisters, Katherine Armstrong, Nell Davenport and Brenda Amick; six grandchildren, Brandon Amick and wife Lindsey, Alicia Banks and husband Jessie, Asheton Amick, Haley Amick, Kaylon Amick, and Griffin Amick; and a great-granddaughter, Callie Banks.
