She was born Sept. 13, 1930, at Elco, the daughter of Loyie and Flossie Lessar West. She was married to David Hutchison on Oct. 28, 1950, at the home of her sister, Reba and Jesse White. David preceded her in death Aug. 12, 2011.
She was a member of Richland Baptist Church in East Peoria and Sandy Creek Baptist Church in Tamms. Betty's proudest accomplishment in life was her family, and was a devoted loving wife, mother, and grandmother.
Survivors include two daughters, Deborah (Charles) Galbreath of East Peoria and Terri Hutchison of Morton; two sons, David "Mike" (Suzan) Hutchison of Marion, Ind., and Rick (Kathy) Hutchison of East Peoria; seven grandchildren; 13 great- grandchildren; one brother, Paul (Brenda) West of West Frankfort; and other relatives and friends.
Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Reba White, and two brothers, Charles and Dean West.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 8, in Crain Funeral Home in Tamms, with the Rev. Clint Nale officiating. Interment will be in St. John's Cemetery. Visitation for Betty Jo Hutchison will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the donor's choice and will be accepted at the funeral home.
