Mrs. H. Dunlap Is Dead
Mrs. Thurza Ann Dunlap, 85, pioneer Colusa County resident, died about 2 p.m. today in the Woodland Clinic Hospital where she had been a patient for several weeks following a stroke suffered in her Colusa home. She had been a patient in Woodland Clinic several months previous to that time and had come home greatly improved in health.
She was the widow of the late Herman Dunlap Sr., who died in his home at 906 Oak Street, January 27, 1949.
Mrs. Dunlap, the former Thurza Epperson, was the daughter of the late Brutus Clay Epperson and Lucretia Lawson Epperson. Her father was born in Kentucky and came to California via the Nicaragua route in 1851.
Mrs. Dunlap was married in Bear Valley on August 6, 1882. The family moved to Colusa about 15 years ago.
Until recent years Mrs. Dunlap had always taken an active part in managing her extensive properties. And she was also a lover of the outdoors, being an ardent deer hunter.
The survivors are three children, Willis E. and Brutus C. of Willows, and Herman Dunlap Jr., of Maxwell - all well known farmers.
There are seven surviving grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
The passing of Mrs. Dunlap brought deep regret to her many friends here this afternoon. She was one of the few remaining pioneer women of the county.
