William Alfred Pretty was born to William and Anne Pretty in Sarnia Ontario, March 16, 1871. Alfred, as he was known, lost his mother, and sister Charlotte, at a young age. Coming to the United States he found work, as a laborer, on the farm of Mrs. George (Julia) Stewart. At the age of 25 he was stricken, and passed, as a result of a hernia. He was described in his obituary as a man "of good habits and disposition, and well liked by those who knew him." At the time of his death his father was still living in Canada.

Headstone is quite unusual. It is on the opposite side of Daniel Myers stone, and looks like it was repaired at one time, as it is an odd combination of professional lettering and hand inscribing.
