Akron Beacon Journal, Dec. 26, 1969:
"William D. Witwer, 69 Retired Banker
Services for retired banker William D. Witwer, 69, of 1702 Glenmount av. will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at St. Peter's Episcopal Church. Burial will be in Oakwood cemetery.

Mr. Witwer died Wednesday in General Hospital after a long illness.

Born in Wooster, he lived in Akron most of his life. In 1943 he started working for the Bank of Akron, which later merged with the Dime Bank to form what is now Akron National Bank. He retired three years ago, with 23 years service.

He was in the new accounts department of the Main and Exchange sts. branch all his service.

He was the organist at St. Peter's for over 20 years. He was a member of the Musicians Union.

He leaves his wife, Mary; two sons, Charles, Tallmadge, and Daniel, Marblehead, Mass; daughter Mrs. Neal Walker, Akron; brother Dr. Frederick, Akron; and seven grandchildren."
