Sarah Adlee Adelaide Kuykendall was born on November 15, 1844, in Mississippi, her father, John Kuykendall, was 45, and her mother, Anna 'Henry' Kuykendall, was 40. There were a total of ten (10) children shown to be born to John and Anna. The family moved from Mississippi about 1850 to Bell County, Texas where their father John died 07 Oct. 1853, reason unknown. Widow Ann was about age 44 and lived with son William, Sarah was age 8.

Sarah Adlee met and married William Henry Harrison Hardin on July 3, 1865, in Bell, Texas. They resided in Bell County until they moved to McLennan Co. Texas. At age 33, she had eight children in 11 years (1900 Census shows she had 8 children, 6 living). They moved to Oklahoma where husband William passed in 1902. Sarah returned to McLennan County, Texas. She died on May 15, 1917, in McLennan, Texas, at the age of 72, and was buried in Harris Creek Cemetery, McGregor, Texas.

A grandchild Ivery (one of a twin) also passed away in 1902 where his headstone is nearby.
