John Calvin Gordon was the son of Benoni and Elizabeth "Betsey" Fox Gordon.

He married Sally Robinson, 21 May 1830, New Hampton, Belknap, NH.
He worked in woolen manufacturing per census; his and Sally's children in 1850 census: Julia Ann 18y; Helen M 16y; Adonirem (male) 14y; Emma W 12y; Henerietta 10y; Frances P. 4y; Kate M 2y; and Henry, 2m.
