— Mrs. Eunice Rebecca Gailey, 94, of Resaca, went home to be with her Lord on Wednesday, Oct, 5, 2011, at Gordon Hospital following one year of declining health.

Mrs. Gailey was born on March 8, 1917, in Gordon County, daughter of the late C.B. Kelley and Artie Tate Kelley. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wilton Gailey; and by sisters and brothers, Georgia Mae Baxter, Alfred Shorter Kelley, Clarice Seneta "Tat" Pulliam, Nannie Bell Kelley, Edna Earl Quinn, Joseph Andrew "Andy" Kelley and Eugene Proctor "Pete" Kelley.

Mrs. Gailey was a devoted mom, grandmother and great-grandmother as well as a special friend to many people. She was a faithful member of the Resaca First Baptist Church where she was a member of the Dorcas Sunday school class and Ladies WMU. She was an expert seamstress and supported the Relay for Life and Camp New Adventure. Mrs. Gailey was a volunteer for the Gordon Memorial Baptist Association as well as the Calhoun Health Care Center, Gordon Health Care Center and Morning Pointe. She also was associated with the Resaca Women's Club.

Mrs. Gailey is survived by two daughters, Ann Dooley and her husband Harold of Resaca; Sue Morgan and her husband, Larry of Resaca; one son, Jerry Gailey and his wife Jan of Gainesville; four grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews also survive.

Services for Mrs. Eunice Rebecca Gailey are today at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home with the Rev. Harold Blackstock officiating. Active pallbearers serving include Ricky Phillips, Danny Phillips, Larry Quinn, Alan Quinn and Brian Quinn. Honorary escort will be the members of the Dorcas Sunday school class of Resaca First Baptist Church.

Interment will follow the service in the family lot of Fidele Cemetery.

The Gailey family will receive friends at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home today beginning at 11 a.m.
