Earl Herman Bilyeu, 82, of Curran died Sunday, June 29, 2003, at Heritage Manor Continuing Care. He was born Nov. 2, 1920, in Curran, the son of Jay and Rosie Lawonn Bilyeu. He married Mary Harney in 1946 in Springfield. Mr. Bilyeu was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of World War II, serving in the Pacific. He was a service manager at Illinois Road Equipment Co. for 26 years and later retired as a custodian from New Berlin High School after 12 years. He was a member of American Legion Post 759 and VFW Post 4763, both in Chatham, AMVETS Post 61 of Springfield and New Berlin School Board for 12 years. Survivors: wife, Mary; five sons, Terry (wfie, Ruthann) Bilyeu of Springfield, Craig Bilyeu of Divernon, Bruce (wife, Leta) Bilyeu of Loami, Kevin "Pee Wee" Bilyeu of New Berlin and Rodney (wife, Aida) Bilyeu of Bartlett; three daughters, Lisa Hill of Curran, and Pamela (husband, Terry) Eberhardt and Melissa Bilyeu, both of Springfield; 13 grandchildren; a great-grandchild; two brothers, Dean (wife, Patty) Bilyeu of Springfield and John (wife, Kara) Bilyeu of Ocala, Fla.; a sister, Carrie Harris of Springfield; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Services: 11 a.m. Wednesday, McCullough-Delaney Funeral Home, New Berlin, the Rev. Charles Duggins officiating. Burial: Chatham Cemetery.
