DuPAGE COUNTY PIONEER PASSES AWAY
Thomas Jefferson Lewis, long a resident of Lilac Lodge, Lombard, passed away on Jan 21 after an illness of three years at his home in Oregon, Ill.
He was born at Lombard, June 6, 1853, and was married to Miss F. Jessie Whitman at Aurora, Ill. on Oct. 25, 1876.
Besides his widow, he is survived by his children: Mrs. Sarah E. Nerger and Mrs. Jessis L. Acker of Wheaton, Charles M. Lewis of DeKalb, Norman E. Lewis and John B. Lewis of Oregon, Ill., Grace L. Sorenson of Detroit, Mich., twelve grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Mr. Lewis was well known throughout the northern part of Illinois, and is also mourned by his many friends.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Friday, Jan. 24, from the Ahlgrim Funeral Home at Lombard, Ill., and interment will be at Mt. Emblem Cemetery.
