Orfordville - Miss I. Adelia Sater, 74, a former home economics teacher in Montana and Michigan and later operator of a tea room in Orfordville for several years, died at 5:15 a.m. Friday in her home here.
Miss Sater was born in Orfordville July 1, 1875. She attended Milton college, Milton and Downer college, Fox Lake, Wisconsin, later completing a course in home economics at Lewis Institute in Chicago. For a number of years she taught home economics in Helena, Montana and various cities in Michigan.
Returning to Orfordville in 1931 she established the Adelia Sater Tea Room which she operated successfully for several years. She enjoyed wide patronage from communities throughout southern Wisconsin.
Miss Sater was a member of the Orfordville Lutheran church and the Footeville chapter of the Order of Eastern Star.
Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Herbert Schenk, Madison, and Miss Emma Sater at home, and one brother, Herman, at home.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Sater home, the Rev. Stanley Gjervik officiating. Burial will be in the Orfordville Lutheran Cemetery. Friends may call at the Silverthorn funeral home Saturday evening and at the Sater home Sunday until the hour of services.
