Religious Figure. He was an Argentinian religious leader and Cardinal of the Roman Catholic Church. A native of Buenos Aires, he studied at the Conciliar Seminary, in Buenos Aires, then at the Pontifical Gregorian University, in Rome where he was ordained, on October 28, 1909. Between 1911 and 1932, he did various tasks of pastoral work in the archdiocese of Buenos Aires, such as faculty member of the Center of Religious Studies, vice-chancellor of the archdiocese, general visitor to the Work Youth Association of Argentina and Vicar general of the archdiocese of Buenos Aires. He was consecrated bishop of Santa Fe, on October 20, 1932. He was promoted to archbishop when Santa Fe was elevated to metropolitan rank, on April 20, 1934. Pope Paul VI created him cardinal, on June 26, 1967. He passed away in his episcopal city.
