RONAN - Funeral services for Arthur William Roberts, 80, of Ronan, father of Vonda Nobles of Hot Springs and Mary Etta Roberts of Plains, were held Saturday, Feb. 26, at Shrider's Mortuary Chapel in Ronan with the Rev. Paul Heidegger officiating. Cremation followed the services.
Mr. Roberts died of natural causes Wednesday, Feb. 23, 1994, at St. Joseph Convalescent Center in Polson.
He was born Nov. 1, 1913, to James and Ida Roberts at Hulett, Wyo., where he was educated.
He and Freda Brimmer were married Sept. 23, 1939, at Sundance, Wyo. They moved to Whitefish in 1954, then to Whit Sulphur Springs and to the Ronan-Pablo area ij 1969. He worked for the John Deere company for several years as a farm mechanic.
Survivors include his wife, Freda, Ronan, six children, Vonda Nobles, Hot Springs; Charlotte Moler, Sumner, Wash.; Lance Roberts, White Sulphur Springs; Alane Rohletter, Hungry Horse; Mary Etta Roberts, Plains; Nancy Mallery, Kalispell; five sisters, Virgie Lipe, Sheridan, Wyo.; Frances Blakeman, Moorcroft, Wyo.; Peggy Blakeman, in South Dakota; Sally Daniels, Spearfish, S.D.; and Cleo Stewart, Sheridan, Wyo.; three brothers, Ed Roberts, Ft. Mead, S.D.; David Roberts, Carlile, Wyo.; and Jim Roberts, Chamberlain, S.D.; 23 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Dwight; a daughter, Carolyn; two brothers, a sister, two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
