Anne was a devoted wife, mother, daughter, and sister. She had a deep Catholic faith. She sent her children to Catholic schools from elementary through college, attended Mass several times a week, and never missed praying her rosary novena.
Like most women of her generation, she stayed home raising her children until her youngest was a teenager. Then she worked with her husband at their Catholic Church Goods store, the A. E. Goodhue Co. that he founded in 1946. The business was a short walk from the Goodhue home so she was always available for her children, too.
Like many of her Murray family, Anne was a talented singer and pianist. In later years, she shared her talents by leading and accompanying a group who entertained at Quincy nursing homes. This group brought much joy to their audiences.
Unfortunately, Anne died too young after suffering a cerebral thrombosis at age 64. Her funeral was attended by a very large number of mourners, and her funeral Mass was celebrated by Bishop McCormack, who was the pastor of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church at the time. Anne and Everett and their two sons are buried in the Goodhue family plot at Mt. Wollaston Cemetery in Quincy, MA.
