Section 39 Lot 1 - This is the tallest tombstone in Green Lawn; it is surrounded by individual stones for family members.

Phillips H. Sturtevant , age 83, retired public accountant, died Friday, November 15, 1996 at home. A graduate of Phillips Academy, Andover, Mass. Attended Harvard University and graduated from Ohio State University, where he was a member of Beta Theta Pi Fraternity. He served as a major in Army Finance Dept. during W.W. II. A member of Columbus Country Club and former member of Board of Directors; former Governor of Columbus District Golf Association; member of S.O.F.A; past Commodore and member of Hoover Yacht Club; member of Rockwell Trout Club and member of St. Alban's Episcopal Church. Survived by wife of 53 years, Vera Powell; daughters and sons-in-law, Patricia and Gary Jerrim of Jacksonville, Fla., Phyllis and Leo Enggasser of Richfield, Ohio; four grandchildren, Justin Enggasser, Ian Enggasser, Jessica Enggasser, Drew Enggasser; brother, Oliver Sturtevant of Truckee, Calif.; sister-in-law, Mrs. Theodore Powell of Columbus; nieces and nephews. Graveside service 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 20, 1996 at Green Lawn Cemetery, Rev. Timothy Carberry officiating. Friends may call Tuesday 5-8 pm at SCHOEDINGER MID-TOWN CHAPEL, 229 E. State St. In lieu of flowers, friends may, if they wish, contribute to Mt. Carmel Hospice, 1144 Dublin Rd. Columbus, Ohio 43215-1039, in his memory.
