104th Illinois Infantry, Company D, 1st Brigade, 1st Division, 14th Corps, Dept. and Army of Ohio and Cumberland, U.S.A.

Residence Grand Rapids IL.
Enlisted on 8/12/1862 as a Private, on 8/27/1862 he mustered into "D" Co. IL 104th Infantry.
He was transferred out on 10/7/1864, into the Veteran Reserve Corps (formerly the Invalid Corps).

He applied for a pension on 6/28/1880 from the state of NE (application # 385,050). His widow, Ann Eliza, applied for a pension on 8/10/1917 from the state of KS (application # 1,105,408).

The 104th Regiment was organized at Ottawa, in August 1862, and was composed almost entirely of La Salle county men. The unit mustered out 6/6/1865 and discharged at Chicago, IL, 7/11/1865.
