Widowed in 1917,she migrated to San Francisco sometime after 1920 where her older sister had already settled. The 2 sisters later brought their little sister Grace to San Mateo, where they were running a rooming house/hotel. Sometime after 1920, Pearl married Bob Stapp; she had no children. She worked hard and did very well in CA. With no good place to have a real garden at her home,every weekend she worked on a beautiful vegetable garden in Woodside at her older sister's. She raised copious quantities of cruciferous vegies that kids REALLY don't like, and made way too much sauerkraut! Just about every year, she got on the train and went to MO for Decoration Day, to visit Liberty Cemetery and others, and to see ALL her relatives. More than anything, she loved family and she loved to have a good time.
It is nice to see all of her siblings linked to her on this memorial.
