HIGHWAY CONTRACTOR PAUL ANDERSON SR., DIES AT AGE 85

Paul R. Anderson Sr., 85, of 5214 Virginia Ave. S.E., died Oct. 3, 1988, at home after a long illness.

He was a retired West Virginia highway contractor. He was founder of West Virginia Black Rock Construction Co. and Anderson's Inc.

He was a former president of the West Virginia Contractors Association. He served on the board of directors of the National Asphalt Paving Association.

He was a former president of the Charleston Chamber of Commerce and was on the board of directors of City National Bank. He was a deacon at Kanawha City Church of Christ.

Surviving: wife, Gladys G. Anderson; sons, John A. of Rupert, Paul R. Jr. of Charleston, Steven H. of Beckley; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren.

Graveside service will be 11 a.m. Thursday in Sunset Memorial Park, South Charleston.
