Willis was born in Bear Valley, western Colusa County, California.

Death Claims Willis Dunlap
Masonic services will be conducted at 10 A.M. tomorrow in the F. D. Sweet & Son Chapel in Willows for Willis Epperson Dunlap, 85, prominent rancher and member of an early-day Colusa County family, who dropped dead Saturday afternoon in downtown Willows. Death was due to a heart seizure.
Mr. Dunlap, affectionately known to his many friends as "Doc", farmed in Colusa and Glenn Counties all of his life. He was born May 28, 1883, in Bear Valley, Colusa County, and farmed there until he moved to the Willows area about 34 years ago. In recent years he had made his home in Willows with a son, Robert.
He was a member and past master of Maxwell Lodge No. 288 of Masons, Colusa Chapter No. 60, Royal Arch Masons, Colusa Commandery No. 24, Knights Templar, Ben Ali Temple of the Shrine, the Western Sacramento Valley and Chico Shrine Clubs, and was past patron of Maxwell Chapter, Eastern Star. He was also a member of Marshall Chapter No. 86, Eastern Star, in Willows. He served as master of Maxwell Lodge No. 288 in the years 1929 , 1930, and 1935.
Survivors include his four sons, Charles B. Dunlap of Sites, James W. Dunlap of Williams, William H. and Robert P. Dunlap, both of Willows; three daughters, Mrs. June Arnold of Colusa, Mrs. Jeanette Pearson and Mrs. Thurza Killebrew, both of Willows, 20 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
His parents were the late Thurza Epperson and Herman Dunlap, Sr , early day settlers and farmers in Bear Valley.
The services Tuesday will be followed by interment in Maxwell Cemetery.
The family asks that any remembrances be made in the form of contributions to the Shriners Crippled Children's Hospital, San Francisco, instead of sending flowers.
