Leslie B. Morse, 96, of 205 Pankey Road, Carrier Mills, died 7:34 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 20, 2005, at his home.

Services will be held 1 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 23, 2005, at Absher-Nicholson Funeral Home in Carrier Mills with the Rev. Derek Downs officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery in Delwood. Visitation is 11 a.m. to service time Sunday at the funeral home.

He was born Aug. 14, 1908, to the late Mason and Lura Jenkins Morse. On Jan. 20, 1942, he married Leota Hill, who preceded him in death on Jan. 25, 2003.

He served in World War II and was a retired self-employed carpenter.

He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Bill Joe (Joann) Morse of Venice, Fla.; a sister-in-law, Betty Yarber of Stonefort; four grandchildren, Starla Jones, Angel Dockery, Billy Morse and Brad Morse; and five great-grandchildren, Lance Smith, Cody Smith, Michelle Dockery, B.J. Morse and Bria Morse.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by six brothers, Winfred, Hughes, Cecil and Mason Morse and two infants; and three sisters, Flossie Warren, Myrtle McNew and Juanita Largen.
