Pean Dunley Laid at Rest in Cherry Grove Cemetery
This community lost another highly respected former citizen Saturday, when Pean Dunley passed away in the General Hospital at Pontiac at 9:00 o'clock that morning, after a two weeks illness.
Adolphus Alpena Dunley was born in Elk township, Sanilac county, March 11, 1870, and passed away at Pontiac, Saturday, April 22, 1939, at the age of 69 years, one month and eleven days.
He leaves to mourn their loss, the bereaved wife; one daughter, Ellen Dunley, at home; two sons, Vern Acre, of Clare and Delmar Acre, of Elberta, Michigan; one brother, George Johnston, of Brown City; one sister-in-law, Mrs. Hattie Dunley, of Peck; six nephews, Charles Dunley, and family, of Clio, Floyd Dunley, Pete and Ray Dingman, of Peck; Lavern Johnston, of Armada, and Tom Finnigan, of Detroit; two nieces, Mrs. Olive Clapsaddle, of Peck, and Mrs. Anna Bone, of Detroit, and a host of friends.
Funeral services were held in Pontiac and the remains brought here Wednesday, when burial services were conducted at 1:30 that afternoon, with Rev. Gene Burton officiating, and interment made in Cherry Grove cemetery.
Mr. Dunley lived in the vicinity of Clare for a number of years and leaves many friends here who were grieved to learn of his death and extend their sincere sympathy to the bereaved family.
