The Rev. Edward Lee Shelton, 88, of Scottsville died at 6:47 p.m. Sept. 30, 2005 at The Medical Center of Bowling Green. The Allen County native was a retired timber broker for Four States Veneer, a World War II Navy veteran, founder and retired pastor of Scottsville Free Pentecostal Church, formerly The House of Prayer, a former member of the ministerial association and attended Gloryland Gospel Church. He was a son of the late William Benton Shelton and Lula Wilson Calvert Shelton and husband of the late Ruby Aline Lloyd Shelton. He was preceded in death by a brother, Bro. Roland Shelton. Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Goad Funeral Home with burial in Walkers Chapel Cemetery. Survivors include his wife, Flora Shelton; two sons, Mackie Edward Shelton and his wife, Joyce, and David Joe Shelton and his wife, Judy, all of Scottsville; three daughters, Wanda Lee Hargis and her husband, Charles, of Indianapolis, Beverly Sue Honeycutt and her husband, Roger, of Scottsville and Rebecca Ann Coulombe and her husband, Mark, of Plainfield, Ind.; a stepson, Junior Shelton of Indianapolis; a brother, Harvey D. Shelton of Scottsville; three sisters, Addie Mae Brown, Willie B. Taylor and Sadie De Paolo, all of Scottsville; 11 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
