Ruby Barnes Owens, age 81, formerly of Foxfire Rd., Asheboro died Sunday, October 9, 2011 at Randolph Hospice House, Asheboro.
Funeral services will be Friday, October 14, 2011 at 2:00 pm at Pugh Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Adrian Pugh and Rev. Steve House officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memorial Park.
Mrs. Owens was a native of Randolph County and attended Fayetteville Street Baptist Church. She sold Avon products for almost 40 years and was co-owner of Bill's Exxon along with her late husband, Bill Owens.
She is survived by her daughter Deborah Owens Allred and her husband Ronnie of Ramseur; son, Mitchell Carlton Owens and his wife Delores of Tampa, FL; grandchildren, Jonathan Owens of FL, Valerie Owens and her husband Carl of FL; step grandchildren, Andy Allred of Land O Lakes, NC, Emily Allred of Burlington; sisters, Farrist Loflin and her husband Bill of Thomasville, Gertrude Wall of Lexington, Shirley Briles and her husband Harold of Trinity, Nancy Gallimore and her husband Jerry of Lexington, Imogene Cartner of N. Myrtle Beach, SC; brothers, Max Barnes of High Point, Weldon Barnes and his wife Patsy Barnes of Thomasville, Joel Barnes of Archdale; several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Thursday, October 13, 2011 from 6 to 8 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, other times at the home of her daughter.
