NEW CASTLE, PA. – George F. Albertini, 76, of High Meadow Drive, passed away the morning of Oct. 11, 2011, at Ellwood City Hospital.
Born on Dec. 12, 1934, in New Castle, George was the son of the late Antonio and Concetta Biondi Albertini.
He married the former Mary E. Bono on Feb. 7, 1959, and preceded him in death on Feb. 28, 2009.
George was a member of St. Vitus Church. He retired from the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission, where he worked as a equipment operator. In earlier years, George worked as a truck driver for the Lightning Express Trucking Company. He was a active member of the Teamsters Local No. 261 and was also a member of the Knights of Columbus Post No. 312.
George was a loving husband, father and grandfather and he loved being surrounded by his family.
He is survived by his four sons, George M. Albertini and wife Michele of Boardman, Steven J. Albertini and wife Ellen of Ellicott, Md., David A. Albertini and wife Lisa of Edinburg and Theodore J. Albertini of New Castle and seven grandchildren, Andrea Albertini, Daniel Albertini, Kevin Albertini, Kate Albertini, Anthony Albertini, Michael Albertini and Vincent Albertini.
In addition to his parents and wife, George was preceded in death by two brothers, Peter Albertini and William (Babe) Albertini.
Burial will take place at St. Vitus Cemetery.
