Friend Taylor, Wileyville, died at his home on Friday, Dec. 28, 1962, at 5 a.m. following a long illness. He was born near Wileyville, Sept. 23, 1877 a son of Owen and Margaret Ann Montgomery Taylor, and was a well-known farmer and merchant. His first wife, Armenta Palmer Taylor, preceded him in death in 1907.
Surviving are his widow, Sarah Jane Lemasters Taylor; a son, Albert Ray Taylor, of Southgate, New Martinsville; a daughter, Mrs. Virginia Ballard, Wileville; two step-children, Mrs. Olive Sapp, Newton Falls, OH, and Paul LeMasters, at home; and two grandchildren. Also surviving are three half-brothers, luther Taylor, Clay County, Owen Taylor, Roane County, French Taylor, Cabell County; and two half-sisters, Mrs. Belle Parker, of Newton, W. Va., and Mrs. Mae Hurst, Akron, OH..
Services were held at the Wharton and Ellis Funeral Home in New Martinsville on Sunday at 2 p.m. with Rev. W.w. Beckley officiating. Burial was in Northview Cemetery.
