Vinita May Hawthorne

Vinita Mae was born Nov. 12, 1926, in Piedmont, Ks, to parents; Edmund Christopher and Lula May (Beaumont) Agard. She passed away Thursday Oct. 13, 2011 in Wichita, with her loving children and family at her bedside. Vinita, age 84, loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, gardening and most of all taking care of her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and brother;Edmund Wayne Agard, husband Charles Hawthorne. She is survived by her children, Debby (Larry) Justice of Alva, Okla, Brad (Karen) Hawthorne of Winfield, Ks. and Margie Hawthorne of Derby, Ks.;9 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren, brother Gerald and wife Louise Agard. and a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation 1-8 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 16, with family present at Smith Mortuary, 1415 N. Rock Rd. Derby. Funeral service Monday, Oct. 17, at Pleasantview Baptist Church, 1335 N. Buckner Ave. Derby. Interment to follow at Hillcrest Cemetery in Derby.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Church.
