Mrs. Haile died at 10:20 a.m. Wednesday, July 5, 2000, at her residence.
She was born April 14, 1916, in Aspermont. She graduated from Anton High School in 1934 and from Texas Tech University in 1938, receiving her Masters Degree in 1954. She moved to Plainview in 1962 and worked with the Texas Education Agency where she supervised Homemaking and Future Homemakers of America programs in the Panhandle-South Plains area for 22 years. She retired in 1984.
She was a member of the Daughters of the Republic of Texas, Daughters of the American Revolution, Confederacy Colonial Dames, First Family of Texas, First Family of Tennessee and was active in the Plainview Toastmasters, receiving the Toastmaster of the Year in 1985. She was a member of First Baptist Church.
On April 14, 1943, she married James Randolph Haile in Montgomery, Ala. He died July 12, 1944.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Jacqueline Haile of Amarillo.
