Ross J. Abbate, Sr., 58, died yesterday at the home, 312 Wabash. He had been ill three months. He was born in Gebillina, Italy, and had lived in Kansas City 45 years. He was a member of St. John's Catholic church. He was a retired grocer. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Angeline Abbate of the home; two sons, Pete Abbate, 11201 Eastern, and Ross Abbate, Jr., of the home: four daughters, Virginia Abbate of the home; Mrs. Frank J. Molino, 419 Myrtle: Mrs. Charles Brown, 1001 1/2 West Seventeenth and Mrs. Roy Wilson, 2030 Jefferson; a brother, Joseph Abbate, Gebillina, and nine grandchildren. The rosary will be said at 8 o'clock at the chapel and at 9 o'clock at St. John's Catholic church. Burial will be in Mount Olivet cemetery. The family will be at the chapel after 7 o'clock tonight.
