Dorothy Kathleen Ferrell, 72, of Crown, went to be with the Lord Tuesday, March 15, 2011, from Logan Regional Medical Center, after a long illness.
She was born August 2, 1939, at Lyburn, the daughter of the late Christopher Columbus and Cythia Jones Blevins.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wilson Kenneth Ferrell, Jr.; one infant daughter, Deloris Jean Ferrell; and two sisters, Florine Fugate and Betty Isaacs.
Dorothy was a home maker. She was a Christian who celebrated her spiritual birth at the Liberty Baptist Church at Amherstdale. Dorothy enjoyed sitting on her front porch swing and going shopping.
Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Cythia Blankenship of Accoville, Wilson (Zine) Ferrell of Wilkinson, Jimmy (Georgette) Ferrell and Angela (James) Murphy, both of Amherstdale, James (Debbie) Ferrell of Gilbert, and Teresa (Earl) Jones and Beatrice (Donald) Smith, both of Crown; two sisters, Bonnie (Wilbert) Webb and Edith (Terry) Swint, both of Zanesville, OH; three brothers, Ottice (Shirley) Blevins of Zanesville, OH, BoBo Blevins and Earl-Gene Blevins, both of Columbus, OH; 12 grandchildren, Jamie Blankenship, J.R. (Brittany) Ferrell, Matthew Ferrell, Blake Ferrell, Devon Ferrell, Whitney Ferrell, P.J. Ferrell, Curtis (Jennifer) Adams, Dottie Ferrell, Amber Smith, Kelly Smith, and Jenny Ferrell; six great-grandchildren, Braxton Blankenship, Bryson New, Preston Ferrell, Colton Chapman, Halie Vance, and Patrick Adams; two special friends, Janice Murphy and Janine Files; and many nieces and nephews along with a host of other relatives and friends.
The family sends many thanks to the 4th Floor at Logan Regional Medical Center, especially Marcus, Tony, Cindy, and Josie, for their care and kindness.
Funeral services will commence at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 19, 2011, at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home Chapel at Man with Rev. Freddie Clay officiating. Burial will follow in White Cemetery at Crown.
