Aubrey H. 'Sonny' Heinaman 69, of Orange Grove, passed away Thursday, October 12, 2011. He was a veteran of the Vietnam Conflict serving with the 571st transportation, 197th Aviation Company, from 1965 to 1967. He was awarded the Air Medal with six oak leaf clusters, Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry and holds a medal for Presidential Unit Citation as a machine gun mechanic. Prior to his retirement from Halo Flight in 2010, he had been a helicopter mechanic for over 40 years. He enjoyed hunting, car racing, fishing, and working. He was preceded in death by a brother Donald Heinaman and his father Willie E. Heinaman.

He is survived by his companion, Dottie Burkhart of Orange Grove; two sons, John (Dawn) Heinaman and James J.(Becky Hodges) Heinaman both of Corpus Christi; daughter, Sharon (Tom) Winkler of Corpus Christi; mother, Leona 'Judy' Heinaman of Corpus Christi; two sisters, Laverne McCoy and Elaine Autry; grandchildren, Ashley Heinaman, Bailey Jenson, Dakota Heinaman, Dillon Heinaman, Brendyn Sanders, Ryan Burkhart, and Dylan Whitehead.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. Friday, October 14, 2011 at the Maxwell P. Dunne Funeral Chapel. A funeral service will be conducted 11:30 a.m., Saturday, October 15, 2011 at the Maxwell P. Dunne Funeral Chapel with Pastor Clarence Cole officiating.

Burial will follow at Seaside Memorial Park.
