Mrs. Mary Susan Abernathy, 83, died at her home in Cartersville Monday afternoon after a lingering illness.
Born in Cherokee County 83 years ago, she was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Presley Gravett.
During her early life she married J.S. Abernathy who died six years ago. She has lived in Cartersville a number of years.
Survivors include four sons, Grove C., E.R., L.A. and W.P., two daughters, Mrs. Tilda Guyton, and Mrs. Minnie Elgia.
Funeral services were held from the Macedonia Church on Wednesday afternoon with Rev. Will Abernathy conducting the service. Interment followed in the church cemetery with Owen Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
